Cristina Coco Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Thanks for finding my photography journal!  My name is Cristina Coco and I am a portrait photographer in the Westchester and Fairfield County area.

I love what I do.  I love what I do so much I left a very cool, high paced, world-traveling job in fashion to photograph kids. I know, I know, I must be nuts, right?  Well I hope this blog will give you an insight into why I left what some might call a dream job to run after a bunch of munchkins with my camera.

You'll notice that a lot of my images capture those kiddies looking straight at me, straight through the lens.  That is the shot I aim for at every session I do.  I love that moment when everything else fades away and that child really sees me.  Only a kid can naturally look at you like that - most adults can seem posed or even look away in embarrassment.  A child can look straight through you and capturing that moment for parents - that look that they know so well? Well, that is why I love to do this so much.

So enjoy my little neck of the web - I hope that it helps you get to know me a little better and makes you comfortable about choosing me to capture your memories.

I wanna sit here for hours with you!

That’s what Lindsey said at the end of our session on Monday and my heart just melted.   Her big sister went inside and drew me a picture as a thank you card and it’s now stuck on my cork board proudly.  Seriously girls?  Too sweet!! These three were so much fun. We basically had a...

Rain, rain go away!

Ugh, it’s been a lousy couple of weeks here in Westchester!  The rain has totally messed up everyone’s schedule – last week I was only able to get one client in with all this nasty stuff.  I will post a bunch this week as I play catch up.  Sorry I am behind in my blogging! ...

The Big Picture

A sneak peek from an extended family session.  I was lucky enough to have a session with 11 lovely people, and more importantly their AMAZING kids who were so polite and sweet I wanted to take them all home.  Oh, and did I mention that each one was cuter than the next?  When I do...

Photographers Playdate

So all mom’s love a good play date – a little time out with the kids, meet new people, and let the kiddos get all that energy out of them.  Well, when two photographer moms get together you have to add a little something more -  basically it’s another excuse for us to take shots...

New Albums!

I am so excited that I am now carrying a new type of custom-made, hand crafted album for my clients.  I can’t even tell you how yummy they are – I wish these pictures did them justice!!  Let’s face facts, I am a people photographer for sure and not a product photographer.  Well, shoot, I...

Little sleeper

I see a lot of babies these days…  and this one is dreamy!  She slept the ENTIRE time.  She didn’t want to be moved around too much as far as posing, but if you lay her down, she stayed and didn’t make a peep! Yeah, that’s a LOT different than my son was too. Anyway,...

Miss Bright Eyes

Ever meet one of those people who’s eyes just light up a room?  Easy with a smile and so happy that it’s totally contagious? Well, this little one had all of those qualities and a lot, lot more.  (she’s quite the dancer!  Wow! Check out the last photo – that stare down is during some...

A visit to Safehouse

While in Atlanta last week, something amazing happened.  Yes, I was able to meet a bunch of talented photographers, but more importantly I was able to meet a group of people I would never have the guts to meet on my average day. Living close to NYC, we are constantly looking in the face of...

Where in the world…

Have I been?  HOTLANTA, baby! Although, I have to say…  it wasn’t very hot.  It was really rainy and not so nice out.  It didn’t really matter though as I was in a learning state of mind and I had no time for sunshine anyway! As a photographer, every now and then you need to...

Grandpa’s Shirt

This session came about because Solveig really wanted an image of her son in his grandfather’s shirt.  I loved the idea!  Tradition is so important to family and when you get to capture it – well, let’s just say I feel special to have my work included. Her son, however, had a different idea.  Little...
