Cristina Coco Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Thanks for finding my photography journal!  My name is Cristina Coco and I am a portrait photographer in the Westchester and Fairfield County area.

I love what I do.  I love what I do so much I left a very cool, high paced, world-traveling job in fashion to photograph kids. I know, I know, I must be nuts, right?  Well I hope this blog will give you an insight into why I left what some might call a dream job to run after a bunch of munchkins with my camera.

You'll notice that a lot of my images capture those kiddies looking straight at me, straight through the lens.  That is the shot I aim for at every session I do.  I love that moment when everything else fades away and that child really sees me.  Only a kid can naturally look at you like that - most adults can seem posed or even look away in embarrassment.  A child can look straight through you and capturing that moment for parents - that look that they know so well? Well, that is why I love to do this so much.

So enjoy my little neck of the web - I hope that it helps you get to know me a little better and makes you comfortable about choosing me to capture your memories.

Giving is Awesome – The Russo Family

After a great year with my business, I decide to run a little contest in December to give something special to a family who might need a little pick me up.  I didn’t have a lot of rules, I just asked that people nominate someone they thought could use a little joy in their lives,...

one little man

Ok, I know I always gush about one year olds.  I just love them.  Maybe I’ve just had good luck, but I just click with all of them.  (And, no, that was not a lame photography pun…)  They are at that age where everything is new and fun and happy and giggly, and wow, I...

Babe in a bowl… {westchester and fairfield county baby photographer}

I think I’ll call this the bowl session.  Mostly because, at 7 months old it was the only way mom and I could keep him from putting dirt, grass, sand, and rocks in his mouth!  Luckily I have this big deep wooden bowl I bought at a tag sale years ago and it served it’s...

happy birthday grandpa

This week is always a busy one with my family.  My brother, Grandfather and I all have birthdays four days apart.  Needless to say, it’s one birthday dinner after another (stemming back from my brother and I getting equal celebrations as kids – nice job Mom!) and by the end of the week we’re all...

New Little Southern Baby – Way Up North!

This beautiful little guy just arrived two weeks ago.  His parents moved here in November, so technically he’s a beautiful Southern boy living in New York.  He held up to all the cliches about our Southern friends – sweet as could be and just such a little charmer. He slept the ENTIRE time.  Seriously, he...

Spring has sprung! YAY!

Some of you might remember this 6 month old’s newborn session.  (Little O Newborn post) 6 months later he’s still sticking out his tongue at me, but giving me lots and lots of smiles too which is so much fun. We were so lucky to get a BEAUTIFUL day on Friday, so Little O, his...

Thank you 2009!

This has been an amazing year. I have been blessed with amazing family, friends, and now a career that completes me in a way I didn’t know possible. Thanks to all of you for your support – I couldn’t have done an inch of it without you. The following is a video of my favorites...

Waiting for C {westchester maternity and newborn photography}

Well, I am SO behind on blogging!  The holidays were crazy and now things are slowing down to a perfect pace.  Besides, I had to post this beautiful mom and her new arrival. Lori was so patient waiting for this blog peek.  She is a “belly to baby” client – meaning we did a maternity...

Rain, rain go away!

Ugh, it’s been a lousy couple of weeks here in Westchester!  The rain has totally messed up everyone’s schedule – last week I was only able to get one client in with all this nasty stuff.  I will post a bunch this week as I play catch up.  Sorry I am behind in my blogging! ...
