In the meantime…  This is a session that I LOVED from late fall.  I had so much fun with this loving family – their love for each other just oozed from them, so naturally.  I just adored them and there was hugs all around at the end of the session.

I am starting with my favorite images – mom got in for just a few frames and they make me smile so much.  Every mom should have a cuddle session photo like this.  There are too many time we are NOT in the picture… right moms???  It makes my heart smile.  Really, I mean, don’t you just want to go and hug them all?

The weather was so strange.  There was this odd misty fog that literally rolled in.  We WATCHED it roll in.  It was so bizarre.  Different light than I have ever shot in, but I was kind of into it!

Such pretty girls!  I love that her Hello Kitty ring is on here.

This is what I mean about the different light.  Do you see the fog behind them?  It looks like a fake backdrop, right?  Nope, right here in Rye, NY…

I don’t have many sessions planned for the next month, just newborns and a baby or two so I can spend some quality time with my family after working like crazy for three months.  I miss them!

I do however want to show you what I’ve been doing so you’ll be seeing some beautiful fall images even though it’s going to be cold and dreary outside.  I hope it will warm you up a bit and get you through the next few months of chilliness!

I loved this family.  Mom rocked the outfits from Zara kids, one of my FAVORITE places to send people to shop for their session.

This is one of my favorite sibling shots of 2011…  what you see is what you get – after a little over an hour with them I feel like this shows each of their personalities to a “T”.

For example, this guy could not NOT smile if you paid him a million dollars.  Sweet as could be, this one.

Mr. Handsome.  His mom is in T-R-O-U-B-L-E with all the girls that are going to be stopping by when he’s 16…

Cute as a button and very inquisitive little man…  this one cracked me up.  I think I told him there was someone in my camera lens and asked if he could him in there.

This lady LOOOOVED the camera.  It loves her right back.

Just taking a second to show you what I’m working on today…  editing this beautiful family session.  They drove an hour to come see me, thank you so much!  I love this image of them.  Those slice of life images where it’s like no one is watching.  This whole session was sun kissed and I love it…

This family is that sort.  Cape Codders through and through.  They live on the Cape year round and they are kind and sweet every time I see them.  I met them through my best friend and it’s been so nice getting to know them through the years we’ve been staying on the Cape.

The wind was not our friend this day.  It was crazy.  We didn’t see it coming because it was so calm by my house, then we drove the 1/2 mile to the beach and BAM!  Crazy, crazy wind! Hair EVERYWHERE.

I don’t care, though.  Hair everywhere or not.  I love this image.

This seemed like a good idea at the time – maybe too high of a jump for my heart…  it stopped a bit when he landed.

Their daughter is at that age…  I love that these are seconds apart and you can see two completely different sides to her!

I have the pretty posed family shot, but this so much more their real life to me.

I just had to share these two beautiful girls though, even in my summer-blog-hookey-mode.  They are actually from California, but their mom and I went to the same high school and connected over facebook.  She was in Cape Cod this summer and had me come to photograph her little ladies.  It was so much fun and so gorgeous by the water!  A photographer’s dream.  Beautiful light and scenery and adorable girls to photograph.  Sigh!

I am loving this shot.  Big time.

When he got a little sad Mommy knew how to get him laughing again!

This is WAY behind.  Mom is actually getting her gallery tomorrow.  It’s still a preview, right?  Technically. 

This family is moving to London!  Actually, they’ve actually already moved because this session was three days before they were leaving.  They wanted some photographs at their New York home to remember their boys being boys here at this crazy stage in their lives.

Family of four kids are always a lot of work to photograph.  Fun work, but a workout for sure.  Four boys?  Oy.

Here is what happens the majority of the time with four boys:

Although moms know that they will get some of this, they do want the nice calm shot and it is the wrangling of the four boys that’s usually a challenge.  Like I said, workout, but do-able.  They really wanted to get their front porch in for a memory!  This is their tough guys pose…

Another house memory – apparently this is his favorite spot.  I was about to clean up the hand prints on the glass, but then I realized that shows how he was there all the time so I left it.

If it were me I would get 4 square canvases for my walls and put these up just like this.  That’s if I had a new house in London that needed decorating anyway…     Just thinking…

Love this one…  I might even use this as the canvas instead above!   oooooh, yes!

Thank you for spending one of your last days in the US with me!  It was wonderful meeting you!

Last year you might remember I photographed my friend Becky’s family before her husband Greg was deployed for Afghanistan.  (See HERE) Greg has been there since last September, and he is finally coming home in October 2011.  This year was just a kids session as we are saving the family images until Greg is home safe and sound.

So these are for you Greg!  We all missed you this summer and can’t wait until you come home!!  Please be safe!

A little fun with Miss J – even though they are bird wings she decided she would much rather be a butterfly, and who I am to argue?  Had someone on etsy make these for me, aren’t they adorable?  Instant fun.

Her brother has gotten a little bigger from last year!

Raphaelle and her family are French Canadian, and just moved here less than a year ago.  Both parents speak English perfectly, but their daughter being only three prefers to speak in French.  Which is a little bit of a challenge as I tend to get all silly with kids and with a language barrier  it takes a little longer to sway them to my side…  You all know by now I love a challenge.

I finally got through when I asked her what princesses she likes.  (Her reply, tout!  (all of them))  That and there were so many flies that day, me swatting them away became a little joke for us.

Raphaelle is one of those bubbly, happy sorts who just puts you in a good mood!  She was so sweet, as was all her family.  She’s due next month and I can’t wait to meet her little girl!

I loved this of the two of them.  Or three, depending on how you look at it.
