Is it cheesy if I say I’m just wild about Harry? Ah, well, call me cheesy.  He was a sweet, sweet baby.

His adorable sister, Arden.  I’m always so amazed when I walk in to the home a few years after a newborn session and I see a little person looking at me.

We were so spoiled with the warm weather!  We got to shoot outside~  In MARCH!?

I love this bold blue….  His sister was on the same couch in a bold yellow, so it seemed fitting and worked really well!

I tried to get her to re-do her newborn shot that hangs on a canvas in their apartment.

I normally do newborn sessions a little earlier, but mom wanted a couple with Ali’s eyes wide open and looking at her, so we did a three month session to get that in-between baby and newborn stage.  Ali is one good baby, and we were able to do a lot with her, she was so easy to play with!

One of my favorite shots of the day, eyes open like her mom wanted and a mini smile as she watches her brother play.

Of course we did some pretty sleepy baby shots too!

Big brother got in front of the camera too…  he was ALL about the jellybeans in the pot that day…

We played a bit while Ali was getting dressed…

This cute hat was on her head for all of 1.2 seconds.  We tried a bunch, but she took it off as soon as we put it on, it was hysterical.  All it takes is one sometimes, though!

In the same studio-like set up…  The hat was gone.  She loved this stretchy blanket I had, she had so much fun pulling it – so much so it pulled her right back!

I love how much she adores reading…  she sat for so long turning pages, showing us the pictures.  It was so sweet.

Welcome to Westchester, it was great getting to know you all!

It all started last Monday.  I was contacted by one of my favorite clients, Jeannie.  She said a friend of her niece was getting engaged in Central Park on Friday.  They needed a photographer and I immediately came to her mind.  I was THRILLED.  This was on my photography ‘bucket list’, and I moved 3 things around to be able to meet them.  I was so excited, and I’m pretty sure I was close to being as nervous as the groom-to-be.

Speaking of…  meet Tyler.

So this romantic guy was out to propose to his girl friend Brooke.  They are both from down South, he is from Georgia, and she is from Alabama.  They met in college and are as cute as could be.  The plan – Brooke was visiting New York with three girlfriends.  She had NO IDEA that Tyler had flown up to surprise her with a proposal in Central Park on Gapstow Bridge.  Both of their families were there too, and I have to tell you, I felt like I was part of the family by the time we were done.  They are just some of the most warm and loving people – couldn’t get enough of them.

There are so many images of this proposal, I’m going to show you a lot.  I decided to keep this post just about Brooke and Tyler – there are a ton of family shots too – but thought to keep it focused on them because it was their special day.

After a LOOONG wait (lol, Tyler!) we finally got the call that she was getting out of the cab.  All the parents hid up on a big rock so they could see, but not be seen by Brooke.  Tyler and I waited by ourselves for a moment and got ready for her arrival.  He is smiling at his family up on the rock…

Finally, Brooke arrived.  This is her reaction shot.  When he turned around, she dropped her purse she was so shocked to see him there.

She started to walk to him…  closer… and closer… gotcha!

and, of course, she said yes!

This is sort of is an outtake, but I love how he is so excited and giving the families a clue as to how it went!

After all the congratulations from their families we took about 15 minutes to do a quick engagement session.

I think Gapstow Bridge will always be special to them!

Oh, and guys?  In case you ever wanted to know – this is how to kiss a girl.  I like that moment of anticipation before the kiss…  it’s my favorite shot.

Something special between Brooke and Tyler – they put their initials EVERYWHERE.  So her brother did this for them while we were taking some pictures.

Tyler and Brooke – it was an amazing day.  I can’t thank you enough for having me be a part of it.  You are both such kind and wonderful people – I can only imagine the great life you will have together!!  Congratulations.  With all my heart.

Here are a few from our morning together.  This little one was such all girl – and with all the guys in my house, it was a sweet change for a few hours!

I always start with my favorite on a blog post.  But I had two favorites, so I’m starting with the one I didn’t put on facebook earlier this week….

I saw the chair when I walked in, then the sweater sitting on the table and knew I had the perfect little toy to match and keep her occupied on that pretty white suede chair…  I love the soft tone of it and her adorable face!

Mom LOOOOVES tutus.  Totally a girly girl and it was so much fun.

And favorite number two…  after seeing this her Mom told me it is “SO her!”  I love hearing that!

And one more because I just think she looks so pretty here and I love the pop of color…

Edited to add…  I couldn’t forget this one!!  I don’t want her Mom to think I didn’t get one of her ear to ear smile that she loves so much!

In the meantime…  This is a session that I LOVED from late fall.  I had so much fun with this loving family – their love for each other just oozed from them, so naturally.  I just adored them and there was hugs all around at the end of the session.

I am starting with my favorite images – mom got in for just a few frames and they make me smile so much.  Every mom should have a cuddle session photo like this.  There are too many time we are NOT in the picture… right moms???  It makes my heart smile.  Really, I mean, don’t you just want to go and hug them all?

The weather was so strange.  There was this odd misty fog that literally rolled in.  We WATCHED it roll in.  It was so bizarre.  Different light than I have ever shot in, but I was kind of into it!

Such pretty girls!  I love that her Hello Kitty ring is on here.

This is what I mean about the different light.  Do you see the fog behind them?  It looks like a fake backdrop, right?  Nope, right here in Rye, NY…

I don’t have many sessions planned for the next month, just newborns and a baby or two so I can spend some quality time with my family after working like crazy for three months.  I miss them!

I do however want to show you what I’ve been doing so you’ll be seeing some beautiful fall images even though it’s going to be cold and dreary outside.  I hope it will warm you up a bit and get you through the next few months of chilliness!

I loved this family.  Mom rocked the outfits from Zara kids, one of my FAVORITE places to send people to shop for their session.

This is one of my favorite sibling shots of 2011…  what you see is what you get – after a little over an hour with them I feel like this shows each of their personalities to a “T”.

For example, this guy could not NOT smile if you paid him a million dollars.  Sweet as could be, this one.

Mr. Handsome.  His mom is in T-R-O-U-B-L-E with all the girls that are going to be stopping by when he’s 16…

Cute as a button and very inquisitive little man…  this one cracked me up.  I think I told him there was someone in my camera lens and asked if he could him in there.

This lady LOOOOVED the camera.  It loves her right back.

Just taking a second to show you what I’m working on today…  editing this beautiful family session.  They drove an hour to come see me, thank you so much!  I love this image of them.  Those slice of life images where it’s like no one is watching.  This whole session was sun kissed and I love it…

“Nope,” I said, “1004.”

Love the clothing their mom picked, their red hair…  I seem to be on a freckle streak, which is ALWAYS a good thing.  This session can show what a difference a cute outfit can make on a session.  The girls felt pretty, it was fun to photograph.  I usually don’t love when everyone matches, but this really worked here!

This is just heaven to me.  Loved this location.  It’s a private club or you would all be seeing more of it!

yes, FOUR girls!  {jealous}  Couldn’t you just squeeze her?  The faux mohawk!!
