Cristina Coco Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Thanks for finding my photography journal!  My name is Cristina Coco and I am a portrait photographer in the Westchester and Fairfield County area.

I love what I do.  I love what I do so much I left a very cool, high paced, world-traveling job in fashion to photograph kids. I know, I know, I must be nuts, right?  Well I hope this blog will give you an insight into why I left what some might call a dream job to run after a bunch of munchkins with my camera.

You'll notice that a lot of my images capture those kiddies looking straight at me, straight through the lens.  That is the shot I aim for at every session I do.  I love that moment when everything else fades away and that child really sees me.  Only a kid can naturally look at you like that - most adults can seem posed or even look away in embarrassment.  A child can look straight through you and capturing that moment for parents - that look that they know so well? Well, that is why I love to do this so much.

So enjoy my little neck of the web - I hope that it helps you get to know me a little better and makes you comfortable about choosing me to capture your memories.

I’ll always love Cape Cod… ~Westchester Family Photographer Cristina Coco~

I have about three Cape Cod sessions to post and I think I’ve been slow about it because I just miss it so much.  It sort of pains me to look at them.  I miss being able to walk to the water every day, drag my kayak out my garage and within minutes I’m in...

Beautiful blues {westchester, Bronxville child photographer}

Hope that everyone had a great Father’s Day!  It was a hot one here, but managed to navigate around that on Friday with this beautiful group! Had such a great time with this family.  I’ve seriously been so blessed with consistently amazing and cool clients and these guys were no exception!  Especially a margarita after...

Another 3!

I’ve decided that three is the new two in Westchester when it comes to kids!  I swear I have more three children families booked for this summer than any other amount! I’ve been a bit busy and my poor old blog has been a bit neglected.  I actually was away in Texas for a week...

The tale of the traveling skirt.

Or one that should have traveled anyway!  I met these two sweethearts in my son’s music class last year.  They are both really sweet girls and pretty friendly, so Mom and I were surprised when the little one wasn’t really a happy camper starting out.  Turns out, we had put her in a jean skirt...

Muse

This is my beautiful god daughter – I am so lucky to have her in my life and she is so much fun to play with!  We went on our annual Christmas card shoot, this time at the church where she goes to nursery school.  I know, might seem a little weird doing a session...

Mommy and me (x3)

This is a post for a friend of mine who had a rough day today.  I’m hoping this will make her feel a little better – she is stronger than I’ll ever be, THAT I know for sure!! Doreen is the mom of three beautiful little girls – I was lucky enough to make a...

I wanna sit here for hours with you!

That’s what Lindsey said at the end of our session on Monday and my heart just melted.   Her big sister went inside and drew me a picture as a thank you card and it’s now stuck on my cork board proudly.  Seriously girls?  Too sweet!! These three were so much fun. We basically had a...

Grandpa’s Shirt

This session came about because Solveig really wanted an image of her son in his grandfather’s shirt.  I loved the idea!  Tradition is so important to family and when you get to capture it – well, let’s just say I feel special to have my work included. Her son, however, had a different idea.  Little...

Sigh.

That all I do when I look at the images from yesterday’s session.  Let me start by saying – I think that every child I photograph is nothing less than beautiful and perfect.  Seriously, I just see every one of them as stunning, gorgeous creatures waiting to be captured by my camera.  But every once...
