Cristina Coco Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Thanks for finding my photography journal!  My name is Cristina Coco and I am a portrait photographer in the Westchester and Fairfield County area.

I love what I do.  I love what I do so much I left a very cool, high paced, world-traveling job in fashion to photograph kids. I know, I know, I must be nuts, right?  Well I hope this blog will give you an insight into why I left what some might call a dream job to run after a bunch of munchkins with my camera.

You'll notice that a lot of my images capture those kiddies looking straight at me, straight through the lens.  That is the shot I aim for at every session I do.  I love that moment when everything else fades away and that child really sees me.  Only a kid can naturally look at you like that - most adults can seem posed or even look away in embarrassment.  A child can look straight through you and capturing that moment for parents - that look that they know so well? Well, that is why I love to do this so much.

So enjoy my little neck of the web - I hope that it helps you get to know me a little better and makes you comfortable about choosing me to capture your memories.

Why I recommend Canvas to my clients

Ok, I know I’m a little pushy on the canvas.  Listen, I was a sales person for 15 years, sometimes I can’t help myself when I love something.  I do love framed prints too!  There’s just something about canvas though – something that makes a statement and makes your images even more important.  Oh, and as long as I’m being pushy – I LOVE galleries and why not make ‘em big too…  hey, go big or go home, right?  You know how laid back I am everyone, but canvas?  (Sigh) Well, it just brings out the salesperson in me…

I saw this post on Three Men and A Lady DIY design blog…  she listened to her photographer, Michelle Rasmussen about ordering canvas – note the difference on the before and after!  What a statement it makes on this wall!!  Instant art.  It might cost a little more initially, but it will save you money on framing – it’s a win/win.  Really!

Go to her site to see more, I’m currently re-designing my office to (hopefully!) see clients here, so I’ve been looking at inspiring blogs like this all week!  There are so many creative people out there, just makes me all warm and fuzzy that the internet brings them right to me…If any of my canvas clients want to send me pictures of their wall galleries…  I would love to see them!

*** please note, photography is work of Michelle Rasmussen!  Just using to show how it can change a room and I don’t have any ‘before’ shots of my own clients!  ;)
